We first opened The China Kitchen on Hereford Street in 2001 with our dumplings quickly becoming our signature dish. We enjoyed 10 fantastic years in the CBD serving businesses, locals and tourists alike before the February 2011 earthquakes forced us to close for an extended period of time. While we awaited the fate of our restaurant, we took the opportunity to revise our menu and the Chinese restaurant experience.
We re-opened at our current location with a larger space and a stronger passion to serve delicious food to our customers. We are committed to offering a fresh, healthy alternative to Chinese cuisine, and that is why we only use canola oil in our cooking and no added MSG to any of our food.
